Can I take the refresher instead of the full First Aid at Work course?

Is the FAIB-accredited refresher enough, or do I need a Level 3 (RQF) course?
For requalifying your first aiders, the FAIB-accredited First Aid at Work Refresher is enough and meets HSE requirements. It's a common misconception that a 'Level 3' (RQF) qualification is mandatory — the HSE accepts FAIB-accredited and Ofqual-regulated RQF courses equally. The refresher keeps your existing First Aid at Work certificate valid; your First Aid Needs Assessment determines how many trained first aiders you need. If you'd prefer the regulated RQF route, just ask.
How long will my certificate be valid after the refresher?
Your renewed First Aid at Work certificate is valid for 3 years from the date you complete the course. You will need to requalify again before it expires to stay current.
